How It Works

The first step is returning the executed Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA) to Paint Rock Royalty. This document outlines the terms of the sale and initiates the due diligence process. We’ll ensure you are informed and comfortable with each step as we move forward.

The due diligence process involves verifying your ownership of the mineral rights from the original deed to the present date. This includes sourcing documents from the courthouse, creating a comprehensive runsheet, and calculating the exact ownership of each tract. Our Title Attorneys then review the runsheet to confirm the accuracy of the information. The entire process typically takes at least 30 business days to complete.

After completing the due diligence, we will send you a proposed Mineral & Royalty Deed for your review. Once you approve the deed, you will sign it and have it notarized. This deed is the official document that transfers your mineral rights to Paint Rock Royalty.

To execute the deed, you will need to sign and notarize the document. Once this is done, you will send us a digital copy of the executed deed. You should keep the original deed until you receive confirmation of funds from us, ensuring that your rights are fully protected until the transaction is complete.

Once we receive the digital copy of the signed and notarized Mineral & Royalty Deed, we will fund the agreed purchase price in full. You can choose to receive the payment via wire transfer, check, or cashier’s check, depending on your preference.

After you receive confirmation of funds, you will overnight the original deed to Paint Rock Royalty at our Fort Worth, TX headquarters. This completes the transaction, and we will finalize the transfer of your mineral rights.
